Peter’s passion for fishing started as a young boy when his grandfather would take him trout fishing in Colorado during the summer. He always enjoyed the peace and serenity of sitting on the banks of the stream or lake and catching fish as beautiful as the scenery. His passion for kayaking was ignited on a trip down the Middle Loup river in western Nebraska in 2006. Again the peace and serenity found while kayaking was something Peter thoroughly enjoyed. Then in 2012, he was looking for a way to better his physical, mental and spiritual health. Kayak fishing seemed a logical choice as a combination of the two things he had enjoyed so much.

Being competitive as well he pushed himself that first year to become proficient enough to compete with the best in the Midwest. Spending hours on the water paid off as he finished 4th in the live tournament of the Midwest Kayak Fishing Series and 7th overall. The experience showed not only how relaxing kayak fishing can be but just how exhilarating it can be too!

Engaging in competitions at a high level provided the skills necessary to master kayak fishing and provided a means to get to know the amazing kayak fishing community. But he found his true niche in teaching and guiding others on the water and sharing the joys of kayak fishing with them. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing someone's eyes light up the first time they catch a fish on a kayak.

Peter officially began guiding in late 2015. Since then he has been able to assist many first time kayak fishermen obtain the skills necessary to be safe and have fun on the water. He’s also had the pleasure of teaching some up and coming professionals some new techniques to add to their arsenal and that have helped them win tournaments. The highlight of the 2016 season was participating in a Kid/Pro tournament where he had the honor of being on a team that took first place amongst a very competitive field of participants.
