Please read the rules and regulations below for the Kayakapalooza VIII.

1) House rule:
The events conducted are about promoting kayak fishing and getting people outdoors to have fun! If we need to make changes in the rules to ensure the safety of the anglers they may be changed at any time to keep the challenges fair and balanced.

2) Partcipation
All anglers are eligible to participate upon registering for the event(s) and submitting the proper fee using a human powered watercraft (i.e. Kayaks ONLY) This includes foot or paddle powered kayaks. *No motors allowed! Event organizers reserve the right to determine eligible watercraft.

3) Event Rules:
a)All fish entered must be within the legal methods determined by the State Fish and Game Department in your particular state where the fish are caught.
b) All fish must be caught on rod, reel, line and hook. Live baits may be used during online events and depending on your states regulations.
c) There is no minimum size requirement for photos.
d) All photos must contain the unique control identifier that will be used for the contests. These identifiers will become available at 12:00 Midnight CST for the event. (Identifier must be printed out with name of angler labeled on the identifier.)
e) All fish entries must appear to be fresh and free of any obvious mutilation or mishandling. If two fish are used of the same length they must show evident signs of distinction. Eligible waters include any freshwater lake, pond, river, creek, etc.

4) Entering Fish
Tourney X will be used for submission of required species. Photo albums will be created at the Kayakapalooza VIII event page on Facebook for any additional species caught. The icon will appear on the photo album page on Facebook at midnight upon the first day of the event. The identifier can be downloaded and printed. The identifier must have your name printed clearly visible on the line provided. Pictures may be uploaded at any time and upgrading is encouraged. You may delete any previous pictures you will not use for judging. Required species photos will be judged by Tourney X. It might take several pictures to get the one you need to enter. Be sure you have good lighting and take a ;clean shot without any blur. A fish may be disqualified if the picture does not meet the expectations of the rules.

5)Recording
a) Recording of fish is completed by the catch-measure-photo-release method. Anglers will need a quality digital camera or smartphone for photos. A picture of the fish must be over an approved measuring device and watercraft must appear in the picture as well. The event identifier must appear in all photo entries. (Including hero shots) *A hero shot is an additional picture with the angler holding the fish and the identifier. We encourage you to use hero shots on larger fish that you catch.
b) Positioning of fish: The fish should be positioned with the face to the left and the dorsal fin up. The mouth should be closed and touching the front of of the measuring device. (An open mouth and/or pinched tail will be subject to disqualification of that particular fish. The tail should lay natural. The measuring device may cause a little bit of pinching and will not cause a deduction in your score.
c) The measuring device should display a numerical inch marking (A black sharpie works well for making them show up better.) Images that are blurry, out of focus, dark, or underexposed and make it difficult to score accurately will be disqualified. Any fish slightly over a mark will be rounded down to the nearest quarter inch.
d) To be eligible for prizes the angler must catch at least one legal fish. The longest virtual stringer will be awarded first place, and so on.
