After the High School Graduation and receptions I decided to give a try at some Bass Fishing before dark.  This was an incredible evening to fish!  It finally warmed a bit today and lot's of sun.  I tried a popper with no luck.  After switching to a home-made chartrese chatterbait I hooked into a monster on the second cast near shore.  It was a 22 inch, 6 1/2 pound Largemouth!  Then I got three more at 19, 18, and 16 inches.  All put up a good fight and all were released.

Fished during evening until just after sunset.  SW 5-15.  Caught 4 nice Bass.  Two of them were 16 inches and the others 14.   Used a Spinner Bait with good success.  Topwater Rebel only caught one of them.  Caught numerous Bluegill, Crappie, and Perch.  Crappie are on the spawning beds already.  Bass are in pre-spawn.

Fished at Rock Creek again with CJ my  year old.  We caught numerous Crappie and Bluegill along with a couple Perch.  Had only one Blowup on topwater Frog Lure that was homemade by Capt. Ken Daubert of Florida.  We caught nearly 50 fish in the couple hours we fished.

Took two local youths to Rock Creek for an evening of fishing.  We started out on a Crappie bed and hauled in numerous Black Crappie and Bluegill.  Also, a couple small Largemouth Bass.  The wind was out of the south and a bit breezy from 15-20 mph.  We used small jigs for these fish.  Then we tied on some spinnerbaits and went for some bass.  I got a nice Rock Bass at 9 inches right away.  Then landed a 19 inch Largemouth.  Also, a 22 inch Channel Cat with a spinnerbait.  Then one of the boys got a nice 19 inch fat Largemouth Bass on a topwater lure.  The fishing was pretty good today!

Traveled to Rock Creek and met the Milburn and Rodriguez family for a fun day of paddling and fishing.  A great time was had by all!  We caught lot's of fish on this windy warm day following some extremely stormy weather the past couple days.  We caught numerous Bluegill, Crappie, and a small Largemouth Bass.  We also caught Rainbow Trout, Rock Bass, and Perch.  I also got a hold of a 16 inch Longnose Sucker!  Very rare catch at Rock Creek.  The water was a bit stained from the recent rain but cleared as the day passed.  We found plenty of glassy water at the north end as the wind was from the south.  We used small jigs, streamers, and spinner baits.  The Big Bass seem to be taking Memorial Weekend off for some reason.

Met Greg and his son at Rock Creek for some afternoon fishing.  We caught several fish including CJ who caught a nice little bass.  I did not have my digital camera today but did have a flip video with me and got some footage of CJ and his bass.  He had a brand new spinnerbait he recently purchased and on the first cast nailed a bass.

2nd Annual Kayakjak's Kayak Fishing Tournament at Rock Creek

We had the best weather one could ask for at the 2nd Annual Kayak Fishing Tournament today!  The water was like glass to start things off.  We got a nice breeze out of the south later on.  We had a few entries which made the tournament a bit competitive.  The fishing was pretty good for multiple species.  There wasn't a lot of size except with the catfish which ranged from 16 to 22 inches.  LonestarKayaks.com sponsored the grand prize of a $100 Gift Certificate for the Open Divsion winner and Capt. Ken Daubert of Florida Kayak fishing sponsored a nice handmade Frog Lure for the Largest Bass caught.
