Traveled to Rock Creek for an hour of fishing near sunset. Water was much clearer and temps in high 60's maybe
70. Not much breeze from the west. Water like glass in most places. Lot's of fish activity. Tried one of
my "extreme trout swim baits" at 7 inches. Got a nice 19 inch hog (Largemouth) on the second cast in about 6 feet
of water. Then I went out more into open water and tried a white spinner bait on the bottom. Fished it slow
and got hammered by a 16 inch bass not long after. I also caught a bluegill and smaller bass using some small 1" jigs
looking for crappie. The fishing will be good on Saturday but unfortunately I will be in a boat at a catfish tournament.

Today, I teamed up with a friend Jared for a Catfish Tournament at Enders. I think there were 18 teams in boats.
The morning was very cool and breezy out of the west. It turned out to be a pretty nice day with temps in the high 60's
to low 70's with some cloud cover. The fish were not as cooperative with us. We did land two small channel cats
and a 12 inch crappie with a 15 inch White Bass. There were a couple other teams that did get into the cats.
The winning team was from Montana and they looked like pros with their jet boat which got into the 2 foot waters where the
lunkers were prowling. We could not get into that area and had to settle for the cats in 4-6 foot of water.
Next year I am taking the kayak and CJ! We'll get up in there where the action is!! Anyway Jared and I finished
7th place which isn't too bad for our first catfish tournament experience.

Traveled to Rock Creek for an hour of fishing near sunset. Found some fish in a shallow area about 4 foot deep
and caught Bluegill, Perch, and Rock Bass. The fish were boiling everywhere. Also, tried for some Largemouth using
an Extreme Trout lure about 6" long. Not much luck there. Caught 15 total fish.
As soon as we get some warmer weather things will pick up around here.
