Kayakjak's 1st Annual Fishing Tournament Results

The 1st Annual Kayak Fishing Tournament was held at Rock Creek Lake at Parks, Nebraska on June 2nd, 2007. The weather was a bit difficult with the brisk north winds but this did not keep the anglers from pursuing their trophy fish. We had three divisions.

We launched at 7:30 AM with a slight breeze from the North. The wind picked up and blew briskly from the North most of the day. The fishing was difficult but the anglers still managed to find fish. Clint Burrell of Parks, NE took an early lead landing three nice Largemouth Bass all over 15 inches. This was a total catch and release tournament. Five-Year-Old CJ Hughes of Benkelman had a fantastic day limiting out on Bluegill, Perch, and Red Ear. He also landed a couple Largemouth and a nice Rainbow Trout. The Open Division was very close as there was a one fish difference between first and third place. Seven of the eight species were caught today. The only fish not caught was a catfish.

After the tournament Kayakjak cooked up some yummy Beef Stew in Dutch ovens for the anglers.
