Fished at Rock Creek today.  Beautiful weather!  58 degrees with slight breeze from south and lot's of sunshine!  Water was a bit more cloudy today.  Probably due to ducks and geese roosting north of lake on the creek.  About 1/4 of the lake is thawed.  Fished mainly in north channel.  Caught 12 Rainbow Trout with the largest being 15" and another at 14".  The others were 10-12".  Used a small 1/64 oz. minnow head jig with a 1" yellow twister tail.  No sign of Perch or Bluegill today.  Road is bad on east side. You will need 4-wheel drive in a couple spots.  West side is a little better.

Fished at Rock Creek today in the mid-afternoon for about 3 hours.  Temps were in the high 50's to low 60's with wind from Southeast.  North end had some calm spots.  Cloudy skies.  Caught 8 species of fish today including several Crappie, Bluegill, Red Ear, Perch, Rainbow Trout, and 1 Channel Cat along with a nice Largemouth.  Used a 1/64 oz. double jig setup with a huckabee knot at top jig.  Used yellow on top and black on bottom.  Also, tried an X-Rap Shad lure, and a topwater Rebel popper.  The fishing was very fun today!  Found several Crappie spots today.  My friend Scott took several pics today along with some video clips.

Today I took the boys along and we fished at Rock Creek in our kayaks. We caught more than 50 Crappie.  CJ caught a Crappie on his first cast!  Christian caught a few fish as well.  We caught Crappie, Bluegill, Perch, Trout, and a Largemouth Bass.  We used small 1/64 oz. jigs with twister tails.  The weather was beautiful today around 65 degrees and sunny.  The water was very calm.

Took along a friend for fishing at Rock Creek today.  The weather was nice with temps in the high 60's to low 70's.  Wind was brisk for awhile out of the north but died down in early evening for some fantastic bass fishing.  Caught 68 fish total. My friend caught a dozen or so including a nice 12 inch bass.  Species included Rock Bass, Crappie, Bluegill, Red Ear, Perch, Rainbow Trout, and Largemouth Bass.  Caught 10 largemouth at 14-15 inches.  Used a Rapala X-Rap.  They started hitting along the edge of weed beds at about 5:45 pm.  Those were fun to catch!

Fished at Rock Creek near sunset. Only fished about an hour and twenty minutes.  Temps were in the middle 60's with slight breeze out of the Northeast.  The water was very clear today.  Caught 15 Largemouth Bass 12-18 inches.  The 18 incher was huge!  Nice girth and very healthy looking.  I used a Rapala X-Rap again using a slow-rolling retrieve with a few spurts of the rod.  Lost 6 of them.  All fish were released.  Also, fished the spillway a little and caught a few bluegill there.   The Bass are really hitting the shallows now.

"CJ" my 5 year old and I fished at Rock Creek today.  It was a beautiful day with a breeze out of the north.  The wind died down later for a incredible evening of scenery and glassy water.  CJ caught 17 fish and I caught 36.  We caught Bluegill, Red Ear, Perch, Crappie, and Largemouth Bass.  We were using 1/64 oz jigs with a yellow or black twister tail.  I caught two 15 inch Bass and one at 12 inches using a Rapala X-Rap and a Plastic Crawdad with a weighted weedless hook and rattle inserted into it.  There were many other people fishing and most were targeting Rainbow Trout.  They were catching quite a few on spinners in deeper water at points along the lake.  There was a stocking last week of about 1500 trout.
